all seasons in one day 79 °F

Hi friends,

Today was my last full day in Australia!

By the way, I am very slap-happy because it is near my bedtime, so that is why the title is random.

I spent the entire day in the Sydney area.

After a walk through a beautiful garden in downtown Sydney, I went to a museum that was an old "barrack." This barrack was a place where bad guys from England were taken to live almost two hundred years ago. It is similar to a jail.

There was also a women's house for free women during the olden days. I dressed up in a costume at the museum that showed what a woman would wear back then:

Then we took the ferry back across the bay to our apartment. Here is a picture of me with the Sydney Opera House in the background:

Later my family and I went to a beach. My parents and my brother, Henry snorkeled and body surfed, while I made sand castles! It was fun!

It was a great day!

Tomorrow I will take a plane to a different country called Indonesia, so stay tuned!

Love,
Pearl

Shark Attack...not really!

semi-overcast 75 °F

Today's post is about what I did yesterday afternoon after a long walk in the city.

I went to the Sydney aquarium! It was great! My favorite marine (that means water) animals were two sea cows (they look like manatees), sharks, sting rays, sawfish (sawfish are sharks that look they are part-shark, part-sting ray, and part-sword fish), and finally fish that looked like Nemo and Dory from the movie "Nemo."

I was only allowed to take a few photos since I couldn't photograph some creatures due to their sensitivity. Here they are:

Me scared in front of a real live shark in a tank behind me:

It was a great trip!

I will try to post at the end of the day, because we will take a beautiful walk in the Sydney Botanic Gardens and get great looks at the Sydney Opera House. Stay tuned!

Love,
Pearl
