A Travellerspoint blog

all seasons in one day 80 °F

That's how people say "hello" in Australia!

I have now been in the "land down under" for almost three weeks!

At the end of the New Zealand trip, I got this stuffed animal kiwi bird named Kevin!

Here is the view from the plane ride from New Zealand to Australia:

We have seen many classic Australian animals on this leg of our journey, including the ones below:

Wallaby (little kangaroo):

Echidna (Australia's porcupine):

Sea lion:

I am now in Sydney, Australia's largest city. Here is a picture of its famous opera house:

Just today while I was homeschooling on the balcony of our apartment, this cockatoo landed right next to me (I took this photo):

I am spending another two nights in Sydney, Australia. Then, we will spend a week in Bali, a tropical island in the Pacific Ocean in a country called Indonesia. After that, I will have another two days in a city called Singapore and then I will come home! I miss you all!

Hi Pearl,
All of your friends have been missing you. We just had so much fun reading your blog. SImon really liked the fly hat you had to wear. Stella wanted to tell she has been to the same aquarium as you when she went to visit her cousins who live in Australia. Jada thinks that Pearl has had a lot of field trips! Corry is wondering just how sharp the cockatoo's talons looked up close because he's heard they are very sharp. Caroline likes the koalas. Priya wants to tell you she gets mixed up between the Sydney Opera House and Lotus temple. Zechariah wants you to know he thinks digging looks fun. Ava thinks the bird on the balcony was pretty. Donte wants to know just how many field trips have you gone on. Micah wants to know how you sleep on the plane and if Pearl snores! We miss you....enjoy your time in Bali and Singapore. We'll check back in!
